Alumni Lecture and Banquet. The Alumni Lecture is usually held in April on campus in the Chemistry Department, followed by an awards dinner in the evening. At dinner, the Distinguished Alumnus Award is presented, as well as several other awards recognizing faculty, undergraduate and graduate student accomplishments for the year. The 2025 Awards Dinner will be held on Friday, April 25 at the Georgia Center. Social hour begins at 6:00 PM, with dinner and presentations to follow at 7:00 PM. Held annually at the UGA Golf Course, this event includes alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of the Chemistry Department. It uses a four-person team format. Prizes are awarded for the top two lowest scoring teams, the putting contest winner, and for the longest drive and closest-to -the-pin on one of the par three holes. The golf is followed by a barbecue at the UGA Golf Course Club House. The 2025 Golf Scramble will be held on Saturday, May 3 at 1:00 PM at the UGA Golf Course. Chemistry Alumni Activities A variety of activities throughout the year bring Chemistry faculty, students and staff together with alumni. The calendar of events and their schedule is given below.
