Department Announces Faculty Searches

Chemistry

 

 

The University of Georgia Department of Chemistry is pleased to announce openings for two tenure track faculty positions.  Each position will begin on August 1, 2019, at the level of Assistant professor.

 

 

Analytical Chemistry

All areas of analytical chemistry, broadly defined, will be considered. Competitive applicants will have a strong research record, demonstrate creativity in their research plans, and exhibit a commitment to teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. A Ph.D. in chemistry or related field and at least one year of postdoctoral experience are required. Candidates should submit a cover letter of interest, curriculum vitae, concise statements of research and teaching plans and arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be submitted. Organic Chemistry

UGA Chemistry has organic expertise both in core areas (e.g., synthesis and methods, physical organic, catalysis) and in cross-cutting fields related to our interdisciplinary centers and institutes (e.g., Complex Carbohydrate Research Center, New Materials Institute, Center for Computational and Quantum Chemistry). All areas of organic chemistry will be considered, particularly those with research interests that build upon this range of expertise. Competitive applicants will have a strong research record, demonstrate creativity in their research plans, and exhibit a commitment to teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. A Ph.D. in chemistry or related field is required; postdoctoral experience is highly desirable. Candidates should submit a cover letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and concise statements of research plans and teaching interests, and arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be submitted.
